Queensberry Beeches, Thornhill: Community feedback

A proposal for a new housing development at Queensberry Beeches, Thornhill is underway. Concept plans have been drawn up and key stakeholders have been identified, contacted and asked to give their feedback and comments.

Members of the Queensberry Beeches Project team attended a meeting of the Thornhill Community Council in September and presented outline plans for the development.

A leaflet advertising an Open Evening for the community was delivered to 800 households in the Thornhill area, and 62 people subsequently attended the Open Evening in the Thornhill Inn on October 6th to examine the plans and give their feedback.

Twenty six feedback forms were received. They were overwhelmingly supportive of the development. Some concerns were raised about the access road and the capacity of the local school. QPL will be in full discussions with the council to address these community concerns.

All feedback and comments have been taken into account and will be included with the report on the Community Engagement Programme. The report will be available for viewing on this website over the course of the next few weeks.

It is anticipated that a Development Application will be submitted to D & G Council in late October.
