Queensberry Beeches II

Thornhill, Dumfriesshire

Queensberry Beeches Phase II is a proposed residential development to the south of Thornhill, on a site adjacent to the Thornhill Hospital and Health Centre.

As a result of feedback received from the local community from our extensive community engagement exercise, initial proposals for the site have been adjusted to reflect the need for greater flexibility in the mix of housing offered as well as a desire for more traditional design and materials.

The planning application is for 65 homes in Phase 1 and outline planning for the entire site, which includes an indicative masterplan of how the whole site might be developed.

The site contains the remains of a Roman Fort, which will be protected and will form an important focal point for the development.

The design takes its influence from the existing character of Thornhill, whilst taking advantage of modern energy efficient materials and construction methods.

A network of footpaths throughout the development has been integrated into the design. The paths will allow access to green community spaces and surrounding woodlands.
